Hamburger Soup

1 minced onion
1 minced clove of garlic
1 lb lean ground beef
1-2 cans stewed tomatoes
1-2 cans water
4 carrots, peel & sliced
3 ribs celery, chopped
4 potatoes, chopped
1 bay leaf
1 tsp. thyme
2 tsp salt
dash of cayenne

*Saute garlic, onion and ground beef; drain.
*Add celery and cook until a little soft. Add rest of ingredients. Water added should be only enough to cover vegetables. Bring to a boil, then turn to low and simmer for 45 min - 1 hour until carrots and potatoes are soft. Add extra salt if needed.
